Chunky baby blanket Diamonds in Popcorns

Crocheting and knitting are my seasonal hobies. I would like to knit in summer, but I simply find other priorities and leave that pleasure when the weather is rainy and windy. In autumn, the sun goes down quite early, around 5 PM, so my family and I can have cozy evenings at home. I cannot simply sit and watch TV with nothing in my hands – I must have some crochet or knit project. My latest project is a crochet baby blanket, which is very simple but pretty (to me) because of the popcorn stitch, which makes the garment textured.

Cord diapers holder or call it whatever you like

I am in love with crocheting. Now I am in love with crocheting cord baskets. I am in love with knitting too, but crocheting is now my new passion. Moreover, a hook is much safer than two knitting needles with a crazy toddler around the house. I want to show off again and present my latest crochet creation – a cord box / basket. The primary purpose of the bag is to keep diapers in it, though there are multiple other ways for using it.

Infinity scarf / cowl Morning Vibes

I finally made something out of yarn, and that something is an infinity scarf or a cowl. Crocheting is one of my passions, or rather the method of relaxation. While crocheting, I either think about nothing, or contemplate my future projects or issues.

The infinity scarf is named Morning Vibes, because it was made for spring – the morning of the year, a new beginning. Moreover, it was being made in the mornings.

Get those things done before the kindergarten

Here I am again with my sewing projects related to my baby boy (okay, he is a toddler already). As in late spring I will no longer be a stay-at-home mom and will not have enough time for sitting at my sewing machine, I am trying to prepare for the autumn well in advance. Yes, I am sewing big sizes, which might fit my son or they might not. Who knows. Nevertheless, my goal is to make a lot of clothes in bigger sizes so I do not have to worry about pants, tops, hoodies, and other pieces necessary at nursery school, or whatever you call it in your region.

Getting ready for spring and summer and autumn

Yes, I am getting ready for the upcoming seasons. Yes, I like preparing well in advance so that I can have everything at hand whenever I need it. Yes, it may seem weird, but this is me, and there is also some reason behind this.

My son’s wardrobe’s update

In Lithuania, mothers-to-be have two options regarding maternity leave. It is possible to take a two-year break and raise a child without loosing a position at work. I took this chance too, and, as my maternity leave is about to end soon, I am getting ready for the time when I won’t be able to sew that much. Continue reading

Crochet ankle warmers

This time I am sharing my latest crochet project, which could be worn outdoors and indoors, and it is a pair of leg warmers. I think I will refer to them as ankle warmers, as they are quite short in length, cover the very ankle and a little bit above it.

DIY jumper dress for fall

It’s cold. It’s windy. I am already wearing a winter jacket and jeans. But a weak ago it was completely differently. I was dreaming about sunny days with the leaves beneath my feet. To make this mental image real, I made a dress I had been dreaming for a long time.

Burda Easy project – where have you been all my sewing career?

I have been trying my luck in sewing since early May, when I bought the Rubina 888 sewing machine. So far, I have made several a lot of baby trousers for my son and the daughter of a friend. Unfortunately, I still have to master my skills. Nevertheless, having realized that making baby clothes myself is much cheeper, I decided to make some pieces for myself.

So here we go!

Fall season DIY clothes for boy

It is only July, and I am already thinking about the fall season, crocheting, and knitting; however, I cannot start my knitting projects kept in mind until I prepare my baby boy’s wardrobe for the cold season. The fall season in Lithuania is cool and windy. Early September varies from year to year; October is usually a very damp and cold. Keeping this in mind, I have made several pieces of clothes for my boy.
